Music to the Ears - An Evening of Expression
28 November 2010

Jointly organised by The Ballet and Music Company and SGH for a worthy cause, this music charity event aims to raise funds for needy children with hearing impairment. The two hour concert event will consist of moving performances by SGH patients and students from The Ballet and Music Company.

The Little Mermaid - 05 December 2010

The Little Mermaid, one of the most loved of Hans Christian Andersen's stories, becomes an enchanting ballet performance at The Ballet and Music Company's end of the year Ballet Concert. Determined to pursue her love, the Little Mermaid makes a bargain with the Sea Witch and forsakes her home beneath the waves to follow her Prince onto the shore.

More than a simple fairy tale, this charming and poignant work explores the nature of longing, how making choices may have lasting consequences, and how goodness can be rewarded in unexpected ways.

ABRSM RESULTS - SEPTEMBER 2009
Congratulations to all students who participated in the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) results for September 2009! We achieved 100% passes, with more than 95% who scored merit and distinctions!

This production is under the artistic direction of Yana Dragieva and will be presenting Alice in Wonderland, a ballet based on Lewis Carroll.
Follow Alice down the rabbit hole and follow the lead of story-telling actors into a delightfully nonsensical world where tea with the Hatter, croquet with the Queen and square-dancing with roses are simply par for the course. Whether you're big or you're small--or sometimes you're both--you'll find that logic is no match for madness among the delicious characters of Wonderland!

This production is under the artistic direction of Yana Dragieva, and will be presenting Thumbelina, a ballet based on Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale of a tiny girl who comes to believe that if she follows her heart nothing is impossible. Thumbelina, who is no bigger than a thumb and born from a flower, is kidnapped by a brood of frogs, waylaid by a scheming beetle, betrothed to a befuddled mole and saved by a swallow. On her journey home, Thumbelina meets a prince, an enchanting fairy as tiny as her and is sure she has found her heart's desire.

The second half of the show is a mixture of different music styles from classical to modern performances (ensemble and individual music). This part of the show will surely please audiences of all ages for an hour of spectacular entertainment.

Presented by the students and professional performers, teachers (from Bulgaria, Armenia and Russia),of the Ballet & Music Company, and showcasing a variety of classical and jazz music performances and ballet and hip hop dance items, the aim is to promote arts appreciation.
